RDP 6 has been released on the Microsoft Download Site, you might as well download it there as it will be easier.

I have replaced my Windows XP Pro MSTSC file with the one you have posted at the top of this thread (rdp v6) when I connect to my home machine which has Win Vista Ultimate final release, I get an error "Authentication Error (code 0xb09c)" that is the only message communicated to me, any ideas ? ?

Oh, and one more thing - if you want to you can move this discussion to http://forum.blandname.com as it's slightly off-topic for the RDP post.

Hope to see you there!

Hi Renjith,

I did some quick tests, but could not get it to run.
I'm pretty busy right now, but you may want to run a dependency walker on it to see just what's up - it should give you some help.

Thanks for the comments guys!

Hi! Ledgem,

Thanks for u'r reply. Let me explain my question in detail.

In Vista there is a new feature called Windows Network Projector. It can be used to access a wireless network projector any where in the network and you can connect your desktop to the projector and you can access your slides from Conference room while u'r PC is some where else in the LAN. The NetProj application uses RDP 6.0. Through the link that you have provided I was able to get RDP 6.0 on WINXP.

The Network Projector application in VISTA is NetProj.exe and uses NetProjW.dll. My question is that, is it possible to get NetProj.exe and NetProjW.dll for WINXP. In VISTA its there is a considerable delay in transmitting the compressed/encrypted frame using RDP. I would like to analyse the performance of the application in WINXP. I am now working on a Network Projector based on WINCE 6.0

Best Regards,
Renjith

Renjith, are you trying to share an application from Windows XP? I haven't installed the beta file from the link that Me provided, but simply installing the RDP 6.0 client doesn't seem to allow application publishing (I presume that's what you mean by Projector Application).

Hi Ledgem,
Unfortunately application publishing is not available in Windows XP using just the client, as you'd need the server framework to support it.
For a native solution, you may wish to try the Windows Server Codename Longhorn application remoting (publishing) function which is similar in principal to a Citrix published application, though much of the glitz and features aren't there. It is, however, quite stable, and I've been using it to publish Office 2007 to my Windows XP SP2 machines successfully for the past few months with no problems at all.
