Call of Duty 4 Perk Descriptions/Guide

Here is complete guide to the perks found in Call of Duty 4, as well as some personal tactics gleaned from my first few days with the games, as well as from talking to others. The perks are a very satisfying addition to CoD in my opinion, and add another level to the game, making it very addictive as you try to collect all the perks that completely change the way you play the game. The levels needed per perk are listed after the perk name.
Perk 1:
Bomb Squad (14)
The Bomb Squad perk allows you to detect explosives planted in the map. This is useful if you are up against people who just love using bombs, and have C4 and Claymores hidden throughout the map. The Bomb Squad perk is unlocked at level 14 – Staff Sergeant I.

C4 Explosives x2 (2)
The C4 Explosives perk gives you two C4 explosives that you can detonate remotely using the fire button, or if you are using your primary weapon you can detonate them by double tapping the “use” button (the default mapping is F). In Call of Duty 4, there are no binoculars, so make sure you are aware of your enemy’s location before setting them off – I find this also a bit difficult, but on some level night vision comes in handy. C4 Explosives are unlocked as soon as you unlock the Demolitions Class – level 2, Private I.

Claymore x 2
Claymores are basically a mine that you can plant in the game to blow people up when they are in range. The calymore packs use light sensors, and typical will be visible before you stumble upon one. The explosion is very directional, and because of this the Claymore perk isn’t very useful in situations you would typically use mines. That said, I’ve had good luck hiding these things just around corners out of sight where people can’t see the garish red beams emanating from these things. Claymores are unlocked at the onset of the game.

RPG-7 x 2
The RPG-7 x2 perk gives you two ground-to-air missiles that are very useful for shooting down helicopter air strikes. It should also be noted that they can explode cars and other destrutible objects on the map, and are very fun to shoot at spawn points, followed by a cooked nade.

Special Grenades x 3
This is my favorite among the Perk 1 group – this one gives you 3 special grenades as opposed to just one. Why is it my fave? Well, combine this with stun grenades, the radar, and the “x” indication that you’ve hit someone, and it’s a great way to find out where people are, run up to them, and knife them with your hobo knife, even from far away! The Sepcial Grenades perk is unlocked by default.

Frag x 3 (41)
The Frag x3 perk gives you three frag grenades – simple huh? Not really, once this is unlocked, you’ll find the maps littered with grenades – try as you will to pick them up and throw them back, more are on the way! This perk is unlocked at level 41 – Colonel I.

Bandolier (32)
The Bandolier perk gives you much more amo for your clip, and is my second favorite among the Perk 1 set because it goes so well with the Double Tap perk. If you like to sprint around, doing some spray and pray while having a beer like me, this is definitely a must-try. The Bandolier perk is unlocked at level 32 – Captain I.
Perk 2:
Juggernaut
The Juggernaut perk, well… makes you a juggernaut! You can take a LOT more damages than usual, and still be standing. Typically this means that I can survive 2 badly fought 1-on-1 rounds and still be running around like a chicken with my head cut off. This perk is unlocked straight away as far as I can tell.

Sleight of Hand (20)
Sleight of Hand helps you to reload weapons a lot faster, and if you can’t aim, like to spray and pray, and run around without reloading or watching your amo, this may be for you. Truth be told, this comes in very handy for shotgun and SAW users, but just about any one can use this. Sleight of Hand is unlocked at Master Sergeant I (Lv20).

Stopping Power
Stopping Power gives your weapon some oompf, and remoes the pew-pew! This is a good addition to weapons like the Mini Uzi, that while very fast, certainly lacks power. The Stopping Power perk is unlocked by default.

UAV Jammer (11)
The UAV Jammer perk helps to keep you off the radar, even when firing shots. This perk is useful against seasoned players who have become accustomed to watching the radar like hawks, and know all of the hiding places already. I highly recommend trying this with the Dead Silence perk and a knife. UAV Jammer is unlocked at level 11, Sergeant I.

Sonic Boom
The Sonic Boom perk gives your explosions some added range, and is great when used with the Martyrdom perk because it will see you taking out many people at a time as the grenade you drop will have a larger blast radius. This perk is unlocked out of the gates.

Overkill (38)
Easily the best perk in the game, Overkill allows you to carry two primary weapons at once, in the primary and secondary slots. This means you can fulfill your dreams of being a sniper/shotgunner! You simply change weapons to where your pistol would be, and there’s your other weapon. This is great because you can switch weapons faster than you can reload, in my case, but also because it opens the maps up so that everyone can carry an ACOG weapon as well as an LMG/SMG or what-have-you. Highly recommended, worth all of the effort.

Double Tap (29)
Double Tap increases the rate of fire for your weapon. This really helps balance things out for weapons that have a slow rate of fire, and makes some weapons like the M16 MUCH better. I highly recommend using this perk with the Bandolier perk as you’ll be going through a lot more amo than usual. The Double Tap perk is unlocked at level 29 (1st Lieutenant I).

Perk 3:
Extreme Conditioning
The Extreme Conditioning perk allows you to run for a much longer time, and is great in maps where you need to get to a certain point faster than someone else, or when you are trying to escape someone. The amount of time of the increase is roughly 2 times the normal sprint time. The Extreme Conditioning perk is unlocked for the get-go.

Steady Aim
The Steady Aim perk give you better aim when not using iron sights or what-have-you. When you are running around in CoD4, your head and body bob, and affect your aim much more than in previous Call of Duty games. This perk restores some of the stability found in other CoD games, and makes aiming while running that much easier. This perk is unlocked already.

Last Stand (8)
Last stand gives you one last chance to shoot the person who killed you with your pistol sidearm. This can be useful on servers filled with beginners, but players are quickly getting used to finishing people of gangland-style because so many beginners are using this. Also, most medium to high ranked players will be using the Martyrdom perk, and since you’re only equipped with a pistol you can normally only tag people close to you, and once they die they drop a grenade and … well you’re dead. the Last Stand perk is unlocked early on, at Corpral II (Lv8).

Deep Impact
A lot of weapons in CoD4 can now shoot through things like corrugated steel, boxes and thin walls. The Deep Impact perk emphasizes this, but also gives lower powered weapons a bit of a boost. I’ve had good results using this and the M16 and the P90. Deep Impact is unlocked by default, as far as I can tell.

Dead Silence (44)
The Dead Silence perk is one of my favorites because I love sneaking around maps stabbing people with my stabbing knife. Dead Silence makes you virtually silent, so that people don’t hear floorboards creak as you walk up behind them with your knife out, just waiting to slash. Dead Silence is unlocked high level of 44, Brigadier General I, but is definitely worth it, and is amazing when combined with a silenced gun and UAV jamming. Or just use a knife!

Iron Lungs (26)
The Iron Lungs perk is interesting. The whole sniper class has caused quite a stir with Call of Duty fans because it is much harder to snipe in CoD4. This perk helps by allowing you to hold your breath longer, and keep the gun steady. I’m told the real trick to sniping in Call of Duty 4 is to have this perk, hold shift while you aim down the scope, and pause for just a half second longer than normal, and you will hit the mark everytime. Definitely worth trying with the Barret 50cal. Iron Lungs is unlocked at level 26 – 2nd Lieutenant I.

Eavesdrop (35)
Eavesdrop is an interesting perk – it allows you to listen in on enemy chatter as you fight. I’m not sure how you can’t hear them already, but this let’s you hear them talking about their UAV as well as the bound speech items that some people use. Maybe they use microphones? Anyway, this is a great tool to use against those using stealth perks that make them hard to find on a map, and on the radar. The Eavesdrop perk is unlocked before the dead silence perk as well – you get it at level 35, Major I.

Martyrdom (17)
Martyrdom is one of the most popular perks, and also one of the most annoying. This perk lets you drop a live grenade just after dying, typically killing whoever just tore you up. This has people now sprinting away from corpses, as well as shooting at them just in case they have Last Stand instead. Because of this, if you’re sneaking up on someone who is about to kill someone, be prepared and have your pistol out to shoot them quickly before they run away. Also, if one of your team members has just killed the enemy in a closed room, be careful not to get caught in the door as you both run out. Finally, if you can, try picking up the dropped greande, and throw it at another enemy. I’ve only been able to do this in open spaces so far, and it needs to be done very quickly, but if you’ve just done a slashing, you’ll be right on top of the nade which makes things a bit easier. But you don’t slash in wide open spaces, now, do you? Martyrdom is unlocked level 17 – Gunnery Sergeant I.

  1. Just wanted to say great job. However there is a small correction that needs to be made. The C4 is detonated remotely by double tapping the “reload” button, not the “fire” button.

    Thanks for the guide. Awesome!

  2. 8P this is an awesome emoticon!! Tilt ur head left 8=eyes P=tounge stuck out 8P

Ps. Srry this was a bit random:-)

  3. No!!! The C4 is detonated by double tapping the “Use Key” Normally “F” it says that while loading a map in the Intel Info

  4. Hey why so much fighting which console is better. Just buy all of them. Its the games that are cool. If the games good enough just get the console to play it. 10yrs down the road what a couple of hundred bucks.. You will earn them all back within your first 1 pay cheque.

  5. PS3 owns for CoD4, but Xbox360 has better games. Not saying which i like more lest i be assaulted.

But here’s some configurations i like to use in CoD4:

    M1014 Shotgun w/ Grip
    Smoke Grenade
    (Taken by Grip)
    Sleight of Hand
    Steady Aim

With this configuration you can run and gun, never having to worry about reloading or aiming down the sights. Nearly invincible in Vacant or Wet Work

    MP5 w/ Silencer
    Smoke Grenade
    Bandolier
    Stopping Power
    Steady Aim

This is basically my all around setup as you can use it anywhere. I also feel that using the silencer gives you an advantage people will scream at you about. I once got into the lobby after i game and heard someone yell.
    “FUCKING KID WITH MP5 SILENCE.”
    Makes me proud =D

  6. Honestly, how do you martyrdom(Not Marty-dom) users sleep at night? Its gotta be the cheapest thing ever implemented on a videogame. I have nothing bad to say about silencers, stopping power, or any weapon(other than P90/MP5 a bit too strong)… as long as you use the right fucking combination!

I swear the amount of times I’ve been killed with a mere 2 or 3 rounds of a P90/MP5/M4/M16 on stopping power is enough to make a real gamer sick. Anyone who takes pride in their kills, in earning them. Anyone with even a drop of honor in them would know, that being able to shit out a live nade every time you die just isn’t right. At least with Last Stand you DO something to earn your damn kills.

As for Juggernaut, I really don’t find it all that cheap. The idea of it is, I mean having more health than everyone else sounds neat but It doesn’t effect my gaming very much. I don’t use it, and I still slay people who do use it rather easily. Its just adding the wrong weapon with stopping power that pisses me off. Having low recoil, high rate of fire, and lots of stopping power is just wrong. Especially on weapons that use a meager 9mm or .223 Remington round. Thats right, the 5.56×45 mm ammo the M4/M16/G36 uses is .22 caliber rounds on steroids.

This is what I use for the most part:

Weapon: anything silenced(Anything but the G36… Can’t use it’s sights)
    Perk 1:Bomb Squad
    Perk 2: UAV Jammer
Perk 3: Steady Aim/Deep Impact(Whichever is more appropriate)
    Frag/Smoke

    For a less subtle approach…

Weapon: Golden AK-47 w/ Red Dot Sight
Perk 1: RPG/ frag x3 (Usually the former)
Perk 2: Stopping Power (Slow RPM and high recoil/inaccuracy on auto)
    Perk 3: Deep Impact
    Frag/Stun

Usually use this one if I am having a tough game and can’t seem to stop whoever I shoot. The MP44 can actually hit stuff if shot in semi Auto. Just thought I’d throw that out there. I can’t usually hit stuff unless its used in this manner. Oh, and I earned the Golden AK, no cage match cheating. Working on the Gold Mini-Uzi now 😛

  7. whats gold weapon?

a question, does deep impact rly make a difference when shooting ppl?

  8. The 360 is not as good as the ps3 I have to say but I do like it so much more I cant begin to tell you. The online is miles ahead of the ps3 and has so much more people but what I dont get is why when im playing COD4 (other things to) I leave a game and then get joined with the same people again? It doesn’t make sense. I even get joined with some of my freinds all of the time! Its rediculous if theres thousands (or millions) of people on live at the time why would I get joined with the same people?

  9. I personally only play on PC and there are generally two ‘types’ of class I play:

    Sniper and Anti-Sniper

    For Sniper:
Primary Weapon: Any sniper rifle (M21 for me)
    Secondary Weapon: Deagle is best
    Perk 1: Claymore x2.
    Perk 2: Stopping Power
    Perk 3: Extreme Conditioning
Tactics: Claymore x2 to cover your back when if you’re in a room or what have you. Sit it there and get warning when someone is behind you. Stopping Power means the M21 gives a kill shot for any head, chest or upper leg shot and will cause a near kill on arms or lower legs. If you are any good of a sniper, then you need extreme conditioning to keep moving. Once you have killed 2 or 3 people or your claymore has been blown, MOVE. Get to another place, resume sniping with the other claymore at your back. Keep the deagle, do not swap it for a rifle of someone you have killed. That will just make you run slower.

    For Anti-Sniper:
Primary Weapon: Mp5 or P90. Whichever you prefer. (silenced MP5 for me)
Secondary Weapon: Anything with a silencer.
Perk 1: Special Grenades x3. (I use stun)
    Perk 2: UAV Jammer.
    Perk 3: Dead Silence.
Tactics: The tactic here is be sneaky. NEVER walk in the open and NEVER try to knife. Dead silence and UAV jammer basically mean knifing is unnecessary and manys the time i have turned around and no-scoped a would be sniper. This generally the only way I ever get killed as a sniper is through someone with a kit similar to this, or when i go out of sniper ammo. If using anti-sniper, good sound is essential. With this kit, just ensure a good shot on the sniper, pew-pew and then leave again. Dont look back.

Generally, if you play these two classes, you will come out around the top of scoreboards every single time.

Btw i do not recommend these classes for Hardcore S&D as they are too restricted, go with an assault rifle for that.

  10. ok i have a PS3 (40gb) and a xbox 360 (20gb). so here are the facts PS3 is going to be better for the game maybe because that they have more room now with blue ray so they may make 2 games in one disc who knows. online:xbox 360 $10 each 30 days
Online:PS3 network is free but the sever is the same as rainbow six so if you vs someone on the other side of earth who is host you will lag.
blue ray is very good now because next year (2009) hd will be gone so yes blue ray wins. xbox 360 and ps3 graphics are the same but xbox is more brighter because i did pip on 720p and then i did 1080p but not on pip ps3 has a bigger hard drive so that’s better. i hate that you cant send messages in a game like xbox 360. So ps3 wins in hard wire yes like the blue ray and xbox 360 wins is software by like the Xbox live

note as well ps3 doesn’t cost for the playing online BUT if you want like add ons for the games is cost more then like microsoft points

if anyone doesn’t belive me then just add me to prove that i have both consoles

    Xbox360 GT:Win Dx1

    PS3 NetWork:Windx1

  11. hey peoples!! i must be sad…i’ve read this entire thing…anway, i’ve got a PS3, I have three friends who traded a 360 in for a PS3, i don’t see the point though, 360 is perfectly decent. the only real thing i’ll consider is money. most of you are talking about differences you wouldn’t even notice if someone didn’t tell you. so I don’t care.

Haze has come out i think…said to be a bit like halo, so thats OK.

But anyway, i don’t care so why am i so addicted?

my fav combo, works every time.

M4 Carbine with red dot sight (red tiger 8P lol)
    Draganuv (got overkill as P2)

    perks:
    1) claymores X2
    2) Overkill (brilliant!!! best perk in existance, my problem as a snipers was always getting shot when i ran out of claymores, or on my way to a decent spot, M4 rocks.)
    3) Deep impact usually, means people half hidden behind a wall still aren’t safe.

this rocks, i invented as soon as i got over kill, and i never ever change class, i even rock at vacant!! for a sniper, thats good.

Wanna play me? i’m sgdiesel and you will almost kill me 20 odd times by using grenades or something. doesn’t matter, at least i kill with style.

oh yeah, ty for the info, i knew most of it already but i didnt know that extreme conditioning makes you twice as fast. so ty.

  12. This guide, the people posting, and everything about this web page is just utter fail.

UAV Jammer + Dead Silence =/= elite ninja knife guy.

You want a knife kit? Try the following…

    Primary – MP5 (silenced)
Secondary – M9 (silenced) – (same ammo type as MP5 = moar bulluts)
    Spec Nade – Stun
    P1 – 3x Spec Nade
    P2 – Juggernaut
    P3 – Extreme Conditioning

How to use: Never use your primary weapon. As soon as you spawn, change to your pistol. STAGGER your sprinting (don’t constantly sprint because you’ll run out when you need it). You’ll never show yourself on the radar because you’re knifing, and even if they have a UAV its too slow to be of much use when you’re constantly sprinting around. DON’T STAY IN ONE PLACE. You have Juggernaut so you can take punishment – that means you’re supposed to run right at the noobs with M60’s shooting at you down the sights and put a knife in their face. And of course, use your stun grenades as SNARES, not for lobbing all 3 over buildings as soon as you spawn.

NOTE: Yes, you can variate the perks for different maps. Here’s a list of variants, and the best maps to use them on.

P1: 3x Frag instead of 3x Stun – If you feel confident enough to not need 3 stun grenades to snare enemies, and are having problems with getting to enemies from a distance, this is the perk to pick. Good tactic is to throw 2 of the ‘nades, and hold onto your last one for a suinade (suicide grenade). If you’re taking damage, are in the open and your first knife missed, cook your reserve nade and hold it – stay as close as possible to your target(s) and laugh as you and everyone around you gets killed when the grenade detonates. An excellent last resort for knife-kit players.

P1: Bandolier instead of 3x Stun – These days everyone seems to love laying Claymores around corners and C4 on ceilings. Bandolier is the perk you pick when you’re constantly getting torn to bits by enemy explosives, even with Juggernaut.

P2: UAV Jammer instead of Juggernaut – Very basic principle behind this change – less likely to be spotted, but more likely to die; that’s what it all boils down to when choosing between Juggernaut and UAV Jammer – ask yourself “Do I want a higher chance of sneaking up on enemies while sacrificing survivability in the eventuality that someone starts shooting at me, or do I want to be able to run right into the guy’s face and cut it open while he’s emptying a full clip trying to kill me?” More often than not, I go with the latter.

P3: Don’t change it. Extreme Conditioning is the ONLY perk you want here when running a knife kit. No, Dead Silence is not a good alternative. The knife makes a very audible noise when it kills someone, even if it doesn’t reveal your position on the radar – and when people hear the sound of a knife, they’ll quickly notice that one of their buddies just got stabbed in the kill log, and will start looking for you either way. Even so, it’s very easy to blend your footsteps while sprinting. LISTEN – use gunfire and explosions to mask your steps – use groups of enemies footsteps to mask your own (don’t try this on single targets, as they’ll hear the second pair of footsteps very easily) – and don’t forget that crouching completely silences your footsteps.

  13. Everyone needs to stop arguing about which console is best etc. Every single person has their own opinions and bias about which console is better and that will bever change. Opinions are like azzholes, everyones got one and they all stink.

Whether you have ps3 or xbox, dont waste your time preaching on here. Get back and enjoy the console that you bought.

  14. What am I seeing? All this talk about the 360 or the PS3… I guess these 360 people have never seen a PS3 at work! Oh, yeah… let’s pay Bill Gates to play online!!! And let’s pay extra for the hardware and software goodies…. Oh, yeah… love that 360 browser…. um….where did it is go?

  15. CoD 4 rocks even more when u play on a PC – one more thing ppl who say they hate its only because they probly suck at FPS on xbox, ps3 ect. and rent the game from blockbuster play it get there asses wuped ( hate the player not the game)
    go play pokemon u nubz

  16. I agree with a lot of the people who posted that argueing about which console is better is pretty useless. People will always differ and have their own biases and what not. PS3 fans will bleed sony and likewise with 360 fans to microsoft. Regardless of whether you have a 360 or PS3, if your happy with what you have than leave it at that. Play your game the way you like, and leave all the argueing to the people who have nothing better to do than to protect/build their ego! I mean, yes there is a time when you have to stand up for yourself or others, but I dont quite think this the case here…Think about it

  17. Hey guys. I was just wandering if you could help me out here. I recently purchased call of duty 4 largely in part due to all the hype going on about how great the perks additions are. My brother and I played a split-screen death match today and I noticed that in the set up I couldnt customize the perks. There were allready assigned to a particular class and I couldnt alter them. I was just wandering if you could somehow customize you perks when you are playing split-screen with a couple of buddies offline. Im not sure if you can only customize them if you are playing on-line or not. If anyone could please respond to this message it would be appreciated. Thanks =-)

  18. @superdynamite
I agree with everything that you have said. Ps1, 2, and 3 have all satisfied my needs to the fullest and that is all that i ask for. I dont need a consule that is pretty much for sure going to break down. A company that is going to come out and tell you that there system is crap and you keep feeding them money. What kind of logic is that. BTW how much did you have to pay for that 3 year protection agreement for the seXbox360. I bet it was more than my 50 bucks for a one year that i know i am not going to need. The ps4 will be out before my ps3 burns out.

Superdynamite: You keep up the great updates and let me know new stuff and I will be here to back you up.

  19. hmm…
    this is pretty retarded
how did this console battle come up?
    isnt this about cod4 perks?
both consoles rock, deal with it
while the little kids run about whining their asses off, i’ll at least say something that’s relevant about the article

Some combinations that i’ve used and i find them useful:

    Weapon: ak47 / mp5 (silenced)
    perk 1: bandolier
perk 2: double tap / stopping power (they both even out)
    perk 3: steady aim

just sprint around the map and kill any1 in sight, then sprint on to the next target and so on, this is REALLY effective (doesnt rly work on countdown)
if your aim is true, you can replace the weapons with the g3, it has more firepower and kills faster if your bullets hit, but use stopping power then
if u like to aim down your sight in many situations, use the extreme condition perk instead, makes u go in and out of tight situations faster and get to places faster

  20. what i meant in the previous post was
“if your aim is true, you can replace the weapons with the g3, it has more firepower and kills faster if your bullets hit, but use stopping power”

and “if u like to aim down your sight in many situations, use the extreme condition perk instead, makes u go in and out of tight situations faster and get to places faster “

  21. this guy has no idea what hes talking about. overkill sucks unless its in hardcore. fragx3 is a great way to get cheap kills and also uav jammer doesnt help hide you when your shooting. idiot

  22. People need to read the point of this article before making idiotic, nothing to do with this article opinions. To steven “also uav jammer doesnt help hide you when your shooting. idiot”. well actually i dont know how long you have been playing this game but the UAV jammer DOES hide you, but only if you are using a silencer on your main weapon and sidearm. yet in hardcore i tend to find the UAV bit pointless seeing as there are maps unless one of your team members calls in a UAV by getting a 3 kill streak (which majority of the time happens every bl**dy 2 minutes. i tend to find in hardcore the follwoing perks are pointless unless you are a serious noob with no skill-

Here is the list.. (BTW this is only if you are playing in HC servers)

Stopping power – Weapons in HC are already powered to be more dealdy so dont waste a perk space with this one.. unless you are a noob with no chance in hell of killing someone with a well placed shot.

UAV jammer – unless you want to be a camping retard, there really is no point because 75% of the servers stream Killcams and a seasoned veteran will watch the killcam and predict your path or were your hiding your d**b a**.

Overkill- i really dont see the point in this perk. my opinion on this perk is that the person using is confused on what weapon he or she should use and so they just take both. even then you will tend to find yourself using one particular weapon anyways.

Steady aim – is pointless unless you are very very very (did i mention to say VERY close to your target) coz it will get you the kill but majority of the maps tend to be ranged killings then up close ones. and if you are upclose your better off using the utlimate one hit kill weapon…. your knife. so stay away unless you cannot hit a target 2 feet away from you with a LMG.

Iron lungs – this one is debatable. alot of the guys and girls who play COD 4 are LVL 55’s by now so they know or should know how to snipe, sniping has to be done quickly as aiming at one person for more than 5 seconds can take your attention away from a counter sniper who by the time you fire off the round will have had enough time to have a cuppa tea with a hobnob and still manage o take a quick draw of breath and get a headshot and laugh at your stupid sniping skills.

Eavesdrop – what were the game designers thinking. who uses this crap??? :S pointless and useless and pointless and useless and uhmmm.. hmmm.. pointless.. feel free to debate with this one because if you use this perk then you are a noob who deserves to be knifed in the buttocks for talking so much C***

and lastly Juggernaught – Can i get a refund on this one? it dont do jack or jill. one well placed headshot or a 3 shoot burst or even a close range shotgun shell is enough to keep you wondering and saying “WTF”? am i not supposed to survive that? i should be able to take out 2 targets in an enclosed room before i die.. im afraid not.. if you have survived thenb please let me know the person who killed you, as i will, at my own expense, go to his premises, tie him or her up and slap him on the head with the “How to aim for dumbies” book.

My loadout of choice is as following –

    G3 with silencer
Perk 1 – Claymores (watch your precious a** with these beauties)
Perk 2 – Sleight of hand (Seasoned players will home in on you the minute they find were you are or are going. last thing you want is to find you only had 2 bullets in the clip and were killed trying to reload or switching your weapons, this perk eliminates the need to switch and reloads in half the time)
Perk 3 – Extreme conditioning (Run forest run.. you will appreciate this perk when you come up against a martydom perk using noob.. or when you need to get to a strategic point, quick and fast or if your planning to escape a airstike or a dreaded Helicrapter)

Hope this helps.. if it doesns then oh well.. you just wasted 4 minutes of your time reading this, and i own those 4 minutes.. LOL.. have fun playing.. and see you on the servers.. 😉

Oh and btw.. PC RULES.. PERIOD…

Hope this helps.. if it does not then oh well.. you just wasted 4 minutes of your time reading this, and i own those 4 minutes.. LOL.. have fun playing.. and see you on the servers.. 😉

Oh and btw.. PC RULES.. PERIOD…

  24. everyone knows Playstation 3 is much better than xbox360

sony looks at there gaming products and looks into the future no 2 years or 4 but 10 years!!

PS3- uses blue ray disc? why? they are expensive but they hold more than Microsofts HD-DVD!

mircosoft did not put there best foot forward on the 360 why they are in it for money and are willing to build a cheap plastic to get it

Sony put more into there product hence why we went with blue ray its better!! and also why it costs more sony is not in it for money but rather in it for the customer.

when 360 was released nore than half reported in with the Red Ring Of Death within a 6 month period

I havent had any problems with my PlayStation 3

PC WTH!! what operating system are you running MICROSOFT WINDOWS XP/VISTA??

    Gaming consoles are PS3/360/Wii

and i belive PlayStation 3 came out on top this year for E3

  25. well i didn’t read the whole comment thingy but I don’t know how a page went from Cod 4 Perk Descriptions/Guide to talking about how much a ps3 is suppose 2 dominate a 360. If you are still doing your research the PS3 is not perfect, your making the ps3 sound like it’s dominate.

  26. darkforce009- Sony put more into there product hence why we went with blue ray its better!! and also why it costs more sony is not in it for money but rather in it for the customer.

That don’t make sense costs more , but not in for money.

Also like to note the red ring of death percentage is usually around 5% usually due to the fact that whoever’s 360 got it is a retard and probably stored it wrong and over heated by leaving it on too long. Store laying down with some breathing room.

Recipe for Red Rings of Death : Find well insulated box, put xbox 360 in side upright blocking bottom vents, and finally run console untill it get so hot that you could boil water on it!!!

One last thing : CONSOLE WAR IS STUPID!!!
Find something better to do with your time than argue which console is better, because you are obviously not going to take the time to try the other one because you are afriad you might like it better. I prefer 360 but it does not rule the freakin’ universe. Xbox 360 has good game base and online support, Wii has unique game ideas and controls ( Super Mario Galaxy best example ever ), and PS3 has good graphics, and better hardware ( if you can afford it 😉 ). They all have their own strong fine points. Just stop fighting.

Great List of Perks Keep up the Good Work.

  27. yeah thanx 4 letten me kno this stuff i jst started so now i kno how 2 reely use me perks

  28. f***ing c***s….

Stop it!!!! 360 owners (me) love their system and vice versa for ps3 people. Its like people who like summer saying its better, and winter people vice versa.

Just talk about perks, then shut up!!!! That’s what this forum is for. If u want a console war, make ur own forum ass holes.

For the people who agree wit me, THANK YOU!!!! 🙂

  29. Hahahahaha, Listen to you PS3 Zealots going on about how great our console is, I own both, and own COD4 on both, the Xbox version is better!!!

    Do you know why?

    £425 for the PS3,
    £30 for the headset,
    £60 for the COD4
    £50 for a dualshock
    Total cost of COD4 pleasure = £565

£150 for 2nd hand Xbox Premium
    Free headset
Free rumbling control pad with console
    £15 for 2nd hand COD4
    £40 12month XBox Live
    Total cost of COD4 pleasure = £205

    the XBox COD4 is a whole £360 better, hahaha…….

  30. team deathmatch:

    M40A3 sniper
    bandolier
    stopping power
    extreme conditioning

i own with my sniping class, m40 has very little recoil, is powerful, 5 bullets as opposed to 4 in the r700, stopping power gets u one hit kill 75% of the time. extreme conditioning to get to a strategic location.

    OR

    g3 red dot sight
    bandolier
    stopping power
    extreme conditioning

red dot sight G3 is actually a lot better than the m16, only for well seasoned players. i used to hate this gun and preferred m16 until I realized how accurate and deadly (2 shot kill) it is…but I can shoot fast as hell with the trigger…a lot of people can’t.

    close quarters

mp5 silenced with fragx3, stopping power, extreme conditioning.

hardcore mode, basically keep everything the same except change stopping power to sleight of hand.

search and destroy…keep everything from team deathmatch but switch bandolier to fragx3 because you don’t need that much ammunition.

    **************

g3 silenced SUCKS, no way to tell where the bullet will go, a lot of recoil, same with m14 you just can’t use those weapons silenced. m16 is the best silenced assault rifle, much more accurate than m4 carbine and ak47 and has a relatively large magazine clip.

for pistols, its not even a competition, USP 45 is the BEST sidearm, as strong as dessert eagle (2 body shots=kill in regular TD without juggernaut), reasonable clip size, little to no recoil. i sometimes end up using his for most of my kills especially with sniper class on BLOC when I am sneaking around the buildings killing other snipers. DEAGLE BLOWS too much recoil and you run out of bullets in 1-2 seconds.

in closing, i encourage you all to start using sniper rifles more and more…even in close quarter maps, once you get good at sniping you will start getting 25+ kills every game. think about it, you stay away from the fire fight, one shot kill, period! don’t put yourself in harms way. if you find yourself too close for comfort, bust out your usp and rape everyone in range. PRACTICE WITH SNIPING that is what sets good players apart from AMAZING ones.

my sniping has gotten me a K/D of 2.18 and thats with my little brother constantly lowering it, not to mention the first few months when I sucked…i’m starting a new account next month and expect a KD closer to 4.5 add me if you want i love doing 1v1 sniping gulrez98 is my gamertag. ok bye i love u

  31. Hey all,
For those of you gaming on Xbox 360 live, I just wanted to let you know there’s a Call of Duty:WaW contest on the homepage for a random drawing for a download version of Call of Duty: World at War (what some people refer erroneously to as CoD5).
Random drawing from first 25 commentors (unique comments please – I check IPs and cookies).

  32. My sniper class uses any old sniper rifle, silenced USP, Claymores, UAV Jammer, and Iron Lungs. Great combo, especially in Spetsnaz v SAS maps.

In addition, I use a counter-sniper class : silenced P90, silenced USP, Bomb Squad, UAV Jammer, and Dead Silence. Also great combo, though a silenced M-16 is an interesting alternative.

  33. oh, nice! I see you must use the USP a lot. 🙂 I like Desert Eagle, even for Sniping. I really like Bomb Squad and Frag x3. The Frags get a lot of kills while Bomb Squad saves your ass in Search And Destroy, against snipers, and against losers who just plant random-ass claymores. Not many use C4, so thats why I didn’t use it as an example.

I am now a Prestige 3, Level 53. I have every weapon silenced except for the M14.

  34. ok heres the rift……use Mp5 silenced with side arm of your choice………perks

    1-bomb squad

    2-UAV jammer

    3-Dead Silence

No one will hear you comming no one can find you. You will easily slaughter anyone around.

If anyone still reads these fourms on Xbox 360 CoD 4 I am 124 wins 0 losses add JuggaloDAB thats my gamertag i accept any 1v1 challenges.

    Peace hit me up 1v1

  35. Hey all. Here are a few combos that I find very effective.
    MP5 with red dot
    Perk 1: x 3 special nades
    Perk 2: stopping power
    Perk 3: steady aim
    Side arm: Deagle
I found this combo to be dominant for CQC

    MP5 with silencer
    Perk 1: bandolier
    Perk 2: stopping power
    Perk 3: xtreme conditiong
Ultimate stealth run n gun combo

    M16 With red dot
    Perk 1: x 3 nades
Perk 2: Stopping power(ensures one burst kills)
Perk 3: steady aim which helps with CQC since M16 is not full auto – I also like xtreme conditioning if your up for it 😛

    RDD with red dot
    Perk 1: x 3 nades
Perk 2: Overkill with secondary MP5 or P90 for CQC(dont really need stopping power cuz 3 bullets will kill any non juggy.
    Perk 3: Your choice

    G36 with Acog
    Perk 1: bandolier
    Perk 2: stopping power
    Perk 3: steady aim

  36. the peepl who play cod 4 on a computer are complete noobs.

double tap F to detonate c4, actually if ur not a noob its is double tapping RELOAD, which is X on a 360, the only way 2 play vgmes.

n ther is no way cod 4 is betr on ps3, XBL is the $#!t.

  37. Actually, the C4 part is correct. When he says it can be detonated using the fire button, he means when you are wielding the C4 radio thing. This is backed up by the fact that he says if you ARE wielding your PRIMARY weapon, they can be detonated by double tapping the use or reload button

  38. i have both and seriously i think they are both great consoles. Firstly, undeniabley the ps3 has seuperior graphics than the 360 however, the counter argument which is commonly used is that xbox 360 has a more diverse range of games which, i honestly believe to be true.
However, the only real logical conclusion which, can be drawn is dat they are both exellent consoles and regardless of which, one you choose you will have hours of entertainment at your disposal.
