If you are new to the game and you use these perks you will soon discover that these perks are frowned upon by other gamers and you will not command any respect.

Noobs (the aforementioned perk users) will disagree with me saying:

its just a game.

This is incorrect. As you play cod4 more and more you will become more addicted and you will want to develop your skills. I personally have spent more time playing cod4 than sleeping in the last 18 months. I regret nothing.

Go play promod.(clan orientated version of the game which uses none of the above perks)

I like to snipe and since my internet connection is slow at times i never get the scope.

May i also add that if you use the p90 or grenade launcher you will also experience abuse from fellow gamers.

I hope this encourages any newcomers to the wonderful world of cod4 to respect fellow gamers who just want to have fun while not having to worry about the next p90, jugger, dead silencer sneaking up behind them and knifing them and so on and so forth.

May i add i am not an emo gamer but one who has been abused time and time again by noobs. I can only hope that modern warfare 2 excludes noob perks and weapons.

Really anyone who plays the game already has access to this information.

Just to clarify here’s one of my favorite class setups:

1) Recently I have fallen in love with the RPD (which is a light-machine gun)
Primary Weapon: RPD
2nd weapon: Gold Desert Eagle (hmmmm flashy)

Perk 1: Attachment (RPD grip). The grip adds a surprising amount of accuracy and the iron sights for the RPD are very managable at all ranges. This makes the grip excellently suited to the RPD.
(A variation would include using a red dot/ACOG with bandolier, for those of us who tend to miss a lot or are very good at staying alive)

Perk 2: Stopping power: stopping power here just makes the RPD so goddamn deadly. It becomes not unusual to drop people with full health in an unnatural time.
(a variation could be slight of hand to cut down on reload time, yet the clip is so mammoth that I rarely need to reload anytime under a 10 kill streak)

Perk 3: Here you have a lot of options and it really depends on what you like.
I prefer martyrdom since if the RPD has any weakness it is its bad mobility and slowness to start firing. This makes it weaker in close range angainst a SMG or shotgun. So if my maqjority of deaths happen in a 10m or less range than martyrdom will help get me some extra kills.

Deep impact is also effective with this gun and extreme conditioning may be what you need as well.

Overall the RPD in one of these variations is an extremely effective weapon. It does take some getting used to however and I would not recommend it for beginning players. The trigger is the most difficult part of the RPD and getting down a smooth burst firing method will need to be accomplished to mantain any accuracy (even with the grip).

However if you have mastered a few assault rifles then moving to an RPD may feel like a match made in heaven. (Even if didn’t like it so much the first time you tried it.)

As for the “console wars” comment, I own an X-box 360 and have played COD4 on both consoles (360 & PS3) quite a lot, although most of my time has been on 360. Unfortunetly X-box does have players host the matches. Which results in messages like “server timeout”, “Host-ended match”, and so-on. From my experience however these are much more likely on PS3 to happen then 360. I do however believe that the null-t5ime is less on 360 and that you are less-glitchy while playing. My view is that the X-BOX live server on a whole is much better maintained than the PS3 server, resulted in less annoying things happening.

As for the ring of death, i have only see it happen on older 360’s thus far and usually they had taken a good beating prior to (not always though). I wonder if microsoft has fixed some of these hardware problems that were occuring quite frequently at the release of the 360?

I’ll throw my 2 cents in on the console war.

XboX: ring of death. I won’t buy a car whose engine blows up (and is basically guaranteed to do so very soon) so why buy hardware that does the same or eats it’s software permanently destorying them. How they market this to the masses and people buy it is beyond me, but then again I still use Windows and ith as it’s own “of death” too, but it’s blue not red.

PS3: There’s only one downfall to the system and that’s that online play can SUCK due to the fact players hosts the server as opposed to … a .. real server. I think XboX does not do this since people pay for online and no one would pay for that. Infact, I kind of would rather pay $5 a month to not deal with “server timeout”, “poor quality to host connection” and “player ended game because he died 3 times in a row” crap. Of course this is only a problem for me in FPS games, none of the others.

From the sounds of it (my xbox experience is limited at best) I’d rather take the PS3 with XboX’s online service (but not pay). Too bad it won’t happen.

PC: I quit PC gaming 1 year ago but nothing compared to it as far as FPS.

As for Wii, well, it does look for 8 year olds but it’s kind of fun. I’ve played that a lot my girlfriend has one and I bought my sister one for Christmas. I’d never buy one myself but they are totally worth the $250 (assuming you can actually find one.)

I’d like to take a little poll too. Are the people who bought XboX the same people who pay for Windows on their PCs?

I am now a Prestige 3, Level 53. I have every weapon silenced except for the M14.

In addition, I use a counter-sniper class : silenced P90, silenced USP, Bomb Squad, UAV Jammer, and Dead Silence. Also great combo, though a silenced M-16 is an interesting alternative.

i own with my sniping class, m40 has very little recoil, is powerful, 5 bullets as opposed to 4 in the r700, stopping power gets u one hit kill 75% of the time. extreme conditioning to get to a strategic location.

red dot sight G3 is actually a lot better than the m16, only for well seasoned players. i used to hate this gun and preferred m16 until I realized how accurate and deadly (2 shot kill) it is…but I can shoot fast as hell with the trigger…a lot of people can’t.

close quarters

mp5 silenced with fragx3, stopping power, extreme conditioning.

hardcore mode, basically keep everything the same except change stopping power to sleight of hand.

search and destroy…keep everything from team deathmatch but switch bandolier to fragx3 because you don’t need that much ammunition.

g3 silenced SUCKS, no way to tell where the bullet will go, a lot of recoil, same with m14 you just can’t use those weapons silenced. m16 is the best silenced assault rifle, much more accurate than m4 carbine and ak47 and has a relatively large magazine clip.

for pistols, its not even a competition, USP 45 is the BEST sidearm, as strong as dessert eagle (2 body shots=kill in regular TD without juggernaut), reasonable clip size, little to no recoil. i sometimes end up using his for most of my kills especially with sniper class on BLOC when I am sneaking around the buildings killing other snipers. DEAGLE BLOWS too much recoil and you run out of bullets in 1-2 seconds.

in closing, i encourage you all to start using sniper rifles more and more…even in close quarter maps, once you get good at sniping you will start getting 25+ kills every game. think about it, you stay away from the fire fight, one shot kill, period! don’t put yourself in harms way. if you find yourself too close for comfort, bust out your usp and rape everyone in range. PRACTICE WITH SNIPING that is what sets good players apart from AMAZING ones.

my sniping has gotten me a K/D of 2.18 and thats with my little brother constantly lowering it, not to mention the first few months when I sucked…i’m starting a new account next month and expect a KD closer to 4.5 add me if you want i love doing 1v1 sniping gulrez98 is my gamertag. ok bye i love u

That don’t make sense costs more , but not in for money.

Also like to note the red ring of death percentage is usually around 5% usually due to the fact that whoever’s 360 got it is a retard and probably stored it wrong and over heated by leaving it on too long. Store laying down with some breathing room.

Recipe for Red Rings of Death : Find well insulated box, put xbox 360 in side upright blocking bottom vents, and finally run console untill it get so hot that you could boil water on it!!!

One last thing : CONSOLE WAR IS STUPID!!!
Find something better to do with your time than argue which console is better, because you are obviously not going to take the time to try the other one because you are afriad you might like it better. I prefer 360 but it does not rule the freakin’ universe. Xbox 360 has good game base and online support, Wii has unique game ideas and controls ( Super Mario Galaxy best example ever ), and PS3 has good graphics, and better hardware ( if you can afford it ). They all have their own strong fine points. Just stop fighting.

PS3- uses blue ray disc? why? they are expensive but they hold more than Microsofts HD-DVD!

mircosoft did not put there best foot forward on the 360 why they are in it for money and are willing to build a cheap plastic to get it

UAV jammer – unless you want to be a camping retard, there really is no point because 75% of the servers stream Killcams and a seasoned veteran will watch the killcam and predict your path or were your hiding your d**b a**.

Overkill- i really dont see the point in this perk. my opinion on this perk is that the person using is confused on what weapon he or she should use and so they just take both. even then you will tend to find yourself using one particular weapon anyways.

Steady aim – is pointless unless you are very very very (did i mention to say VERY close to your target) coz it will get you the kill but majority of the maps tend to be ranged killings then up close ones. and if you are upclose your better off using the utlimate one hit kill weapon…. your knife. so stay away unless you cannot hit a target 2 feet away from you with a LMG.

Iron lungs – this one is debatable. alot of the guys and girls who play COD 4 are LVL 55’s by now so they know or should know how to snipe, sniping has to be done quickly as aiming at one person for more than 5 seconds can take your attention away from a counter sniper who by the time you fire off the round will have had enough time to have a cuppa tea with a hobnob and still manage o take a quick draw of breath and get a headshot and laugh at your stupid sniping skills.

Eavesdrop – what were the game designers thinking. who uses this crap??? :S pointless and useless and pointless and useless and uhmmm.. hmmm.. pointless.. feel free to debate with this one because if you use this perk then you are a noob who deserves to be knifed in the buttocks for talking so much C***

and lastly Juggernaught – Can i get a refund on this one? it dont do jack or jill. one well placed headshot or a 3 shoot burst or even a close range shotgun shell is enough to keep you wondering and saying “WTF”? am i not supposed to survive that? i should be able to take out 2 targets in an enclosed room before i die.. im afraid not.. if you have survived thenb please let me know the person who killed you, as i will, at my own expense, go to his premises, tie him or her up and slap him on the head with the “How to aim for dumbies” book.

My loadout of choice is as following -

Perk 3 – Extreme conditioning (Run forest run.. you will appreciate this perk when you come up against a martydom perk using noob.. or when you need to get to a strategic point, quick and fast or if your planning to escape a airstike or a dreaded Helicrapter)
